Our Workforce Service Center in Baldwin will help you find work in any County within the State of Michigan in which you would like to work. All of our services are free. We have experienced, helpful staff here in our office and computers you can use for job-finding on the internet. If you're not sure how to use the internet for job-finding, don't worry: it's easy and we'll help you do it.

The Workforce Service Center is where everything is in one place: job seekers come here to find work, employers come here to find workers, and service agencies are here to help. These are the partner agencies that offer their services through the Lake County Workforce Service Center:


The Foundation for Behavioral Resources operates all the adult employment and training programs (Workforce Investment Act, Work First, Welfare to Work) in Lake county for Michigan Works! West Central.

Services to job seekers include:

- Match you with employers
- Test for job compatibility
- Pay a portion of starting salary
- Offer classroom training
- Assist with supportive services
- There is no charge to job seekers for any service.

Services to employers include:

- Advertise job openings
- Take applications and pre-screen applicants
- Basic skills testing for applicants, if position requires
- Help defray the cost of training new unskilled employees
- There is no charge to employers for any service

The Foundation for Behavioral Resources is a non-profit corporation with affiliates throughout Michigan.

Eagle Village is dedicated to helping youth from the age of 14 to 21 to obtain employment either in the private or public sector. We assist them with career exploration, educational assessment, and job placement. These services are provided in Lake, Mason, Mecosta, Newaygo and Osceola counties.

Newaygo County Regional Educational Service Agency administers an Internet based statewide system designed to link Employers and Job Seekers easily and free of charge in the West Central region. The "Michigan Job Bank" website is the largest job bank in the country. The Michigan Works! Employment Services (ES) Specialist will also assist and guide clients to create or perfect a "traditional" resume, cover letters, and instruct with job interview tips and preparation. The ES Specialist will also key in on "special" assistance that any agency (Veteran's Representative, Rehabilitation Services, Eagle Village Youth Services, etc.) may be able to lend the job seeker to enhance their ability to compete in the job market. These referrals are key in attracting new clients to obtain assistance and to allow a full range of networking opportunities between agencies.

Michigan Veterans Representative
"Your Best Bet, Hire a Vet." The Veterans Employment helps with job referral and placement; assists in resume writing and career planning. The Veterans Representative also helps with interview skills and offers Labor market Information as well as information on veterans benefits.
