Our Workforce Service Center in Fremont will help you find work in any County within the State of Michigan in which you would like to work. All of our services are free. We have experienced, helpful staff here in our office and computers you can use for job-finding on the internet. If you're not sure how to use the internet for job-finding, don't worry: it's easy and we'll help you do it.|
The Workforce Service Center is where everything is in one place: job seekers come here to find work, employers come here to find workers, and service agencies are here to help. These are the partner agencies that offer their services through the Newaygo County Workforce Service Center:
|HOPE Network operates the adult and youth employment and training programs (Workforce Investment Act and Welfare to Work) in Newaygo, Mecosta, and Osceola Counties for Michigan Works! West Central.
Services to job seekers at no charge include: testing for job compatibility; job seeking skills workshops; paying part of the cost of a starting wage for training on the job; classroom training and, when necessary, other supportive services. Hope Network has partnerships with other area agencies that can also provide support services.
Service to employers at no charge include: taking applications and pre-screening applicants; aptitude testing, if position requires; helping with the cost of training new, unskilled employees.

|Newaygo County Regional Educational Service Agency administers Pure Michigan Talent Connect, an Internet-based statewide system designed to link Employers and Job Seekers easily and free of charge in the West Central region. The Michigan Works! Employment Services (ES) Specialist will also assist and guide clients to create or perfect a "traditional" resume, cover letters, and instruct with job interview tips and preparation. The ES Specialist will also key in on "special" assistance that any agency (Veteran's Representative, Rehabilitation Services, etc.) may be able to lend the job seeker to enhance their ability to compete in the job market. These referrals are key in attracting new clients to obtain assistance and to allow a full range of networking opportunities between agencies.|

|Michigan Rehabilitation Services work in partnership with persons with disabilities to prepare for employment. To be eligible for services the person must have a disability that causes a barrier to employment. A disability may be physical, emotional, learning or substance abuse. Participants and counselors work together to explore career options and then develop a plan to reach the career goal. The plan may include further training; strategies to improve job seeking and job interview skills; address the need for accommodations on the job; and placement services. "Your Best Bet, Hire a Vet." The Veterans Employment helps with job referral and placement; assists in resume writing and career planning. The Veterans Representative also helps with interview skills and offers Labor market Information as well as information on veterans benefits.

||The goal of the Migrant Services is to meet the employment service needs of the agricultural industry in Lake, Mecosta, Newaygo, and Osceola counties. Working with agricultural employers, migrant seasonal farm workers and/or seasonal farm workers. This office works with migrant and/or seasonal farm workers that want to settle out into full-time employment. We also provide supportive services.|
|Muskegon Community College is your public community college serving Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, and Ottawa counties. MCC offers eighty degrees and certificate programs in the Liberal Arts and Sciences, Allied Health (Nursing, Respiratory Therapy), Business and Technology. MCC programs lead to employment in a wide variety of fields and can provide a path to transfer for those seeking a bachelor's degree.|
MCC is now offering through its Newaygo County extension site located at NCRESA in Fremont, course work leading to the Associates degree. Conveniently located with high quality education opportunities and affordable tuition, the college is expanding its course selection to serve the needs of Western Michigan residents. The purpose of the Center is to provide ready access to high quality career and technical education for all students that is consistent with their needs, interests, and abilities.
