(Fremont, MI) – Area entrepreneurs looking to make a splash with their burgeoning business have the opportunity to win a cash prize! Residents of Lake, Newaygo and Oceana counties can register to show off innovative ideas or products this spring during the inaugural Pitch North competition. The goal of the contest, is to spark change and promote entrepreneurial progress in some of West Michigan’s more rural counties.
A panel of judges will evaluate submissions from area residents and select five finalists to deliver their pitches in front of a live audience. The individuals chosen will compete for the grand prize from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8th, at the Dogwood Center for Performing Arts in Fremont. Three people will go home with cash prizes to help bring their ideas to life. The winner of Pitch North will receive $4,000; second place will receive a $2,500 prize; and third place will receive $1,000. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at time of entry, as well as be a resident of Lake, Newaygo or Oceana counties. Submissions are only accepted on an individual basis. Checks for winning entries will be made out to an individual, not a group, business or organization. Only one entry per individual will be accepted, and the ideas presented must be your own.
